You seemed to be thinking it was due to the mask until your boyfriend said it was because of the color of his skin; so how did he know she was racist? Just a little confused as to how that jump was made. How do you know that you or your partner didn’t come off as rude to her? That I thought shared many of the same ideals I do. To be sure Canada has its own share of history we'd like to re-write. How we mistreated indigenous people. the French-English divide.
